Gold Coast Schoolies Project: this is one of the best opportunities to share God's love with high school leavers. Estimates suggest that over the two weeks of project, nearly 50,000 young people will make their way to the coast for partying by the ocean and wandering the streets with friends. Your job is to enter that mission field ready with the gospel at hand. You will be given training in conversational evangelism and in concrete, practical apologetics to answer tough questions.
On most nights, from 9 or 10pm onwards, you will travel 15 minutes north from our accommodation (located in the beautiful Burleigh Headlands) to Surfers Paradise where you will walk the streets in small groups looking for students who need help. You will demonstrate practical compassion by helping the Schoolies stay safe, or sit down and strike up a conversation to share the gospel of Christ. You'll be surprised at how open the Schoolies are to spiritual issues!
For most of the project, your bed time won't come until 2 or 3 am and then you'll sleep in late in the morning. During the afternoons you'll experience training in leading core groups, running Christianity Explained courses, and in other leadership skills. You will also experience intensive discipleship to continue growing your personal maturity and faith in God. Ministering alongside 50 other students from Australia and New Zealand, you will make many new friendships and strengthen old ones as you help point students to Christ.
Gold Coast Schoolies: Where you are guaranteed to grow both in your love and view of God, and in your
love for and ability to communicate God's love to lost students. With a group of 12 disciples, Jesus changed
the world forever. What might he do with a group of 50? Are you ready to find out? Take the first step of
faith and apply now.
